Sharing the Gospel

Sharing the Gospel

Dear Friends,

Well, can you believe it? We're in July already! I don’t know about you, but for me, this year is just going so fast - maybe a little bit too fast. It won’t be long before we start thinking about the "C" word, but definitely not quite yet!

For a couple of weeks now, I've tried, every now and again, to pop along to Playgroup. Playgroup is held in St Thomas's church each Wednesday morning. Each week, lots of pre-school-age children, along with their big children (their grown-ups), come and play with loads of toys, have a drink, enjoy some singing, and of course, have lots and lots of fun.

It's been such a joy popping in—seeing the children running around, having fun, and making friends. It's also been a real joy chatting with some of the grown-ups and getting to know people.

This group is only possible thanks to some amazing people who give up their time each week, which is wonderful.

Each time I've popped in to Playgroup, I've seen people sharing the Gospel. Sharing the Gospel isn't always about talking directly about God or Jesus. It's more than that - it's about showing the Gospel through our care and support for one another.

There's a saying often attributed to St. Francis of Assisi that goes something like this: "Preach the Gospel at all times. Use words if necessary." Maybe this week we can do just that for those around us.

Hope you have a good day,

Rev'd Darius Traves
