The church has been awarded £15,236 from the National Lottery Heritage Fund to work with the local community to celebrate its history of radical inclusion. There are many ways to get involved:
Oral history
Do you have a story about Osbaldwick you would like to share?
Would you like to learn how to record a story?
If yes then please contact Bernadette Burbridge
Parish Map
We are working with local artist Jen Dring, to create a textile wall hanging to reflect the stories of the parish. We have split the parish into 15 areas. You can work on it by yourself or with a friend/s.
You will be given a kit with a pattern for the shape of the area you are working on, a colour palette and ideas for stories you could include. Then it’s over to you. There will be several catch up sessions so you can see what everyone is working on.

Story Sharing
Members of the church and Coffee morning will be meeting with children from Osbaldwick Primary school to share their stories about Osbaldwick. Bring old pictures of Osbaldwick or objects from decades ago with which to enthral the children.
Artwork from the children will be used in an exhibition about the area.

Community Consultation
We are asking the local community about our radical history and how we share it with the local community. We hope to run consultation events:
• Mary Ward - Contact Jan Nobel
There are three remarkable LGBQT graves
- • Eliza Raine – girlfriend of Anne Lister
- • Richard Wright and William Hutchinson – 18th century gentleman
