June

Dear Friends,

Well, we are now in June - can you believe it? We are already halfway through 2026. June can often be a big month for many of our young people, especially those in the middle of exams or beginning to think about what comes next.

For many, this can be a time when some of life’s bigger questions begin to surface. Who am I? What do I want to do? Where do I belong? What is my identity?

June is also the month of Pride, a time when many celebrate people for who they truly are. It’s a reminder that identity matters, and that for many people the journey of discovering who they are is not always easy.

Within the Church, June can also be a special month, as it is often when those exploring a call to ordained ministry are ordained.

For me, this year is especially meaningful, as June marks one year since I was ordained priest. Looking back over that year, there have been moments of joy, challenge, growth, and plenty of learning. Yet through it all, one thing has remained clear: God is still at work.

So what does all of this teach us?

Perhaps whether we are young and thinking about our future, exploring questions around identity, or simply trying to work out what God may be calling us to next, we are reminded that our journey is still unfolding.

And maybe the good news is this: we do not walk that journey alone.

Until next time.

God bless,

Rev’d Darius Traves
