New Year's resolutions
Dear Friends,
Well, Happy New Year! I hope your Christmas gave you the chance to enjoy the celebrations in whichever way was right for you. I'm sure many of us by now will have taken down the decorations and are beginning to look towards the year ahead.
January can sometimes be quite difficult for some of us. Life can seem quite flat, especially once all of the festivals are over - and this is okay. However, January can also be a chance to reflect on what we hope to get out of the year that lies before us.
In January many of us might make New Year’s resolutions, things that we hope to achieve over the next 12 months. For some, that might be quite a big thing like moving house or starting a new job. For others, it might be something like taking up the hobby we hoped to start last year but didn’t quite get round to. Whatever it is, the New Year gives us that gift.
Although Christmas is technically over, the season of Christmas hasn’t ended just yet - it carries on for a few more weeks (until the 2nd of February). January is also when we remember the three kings, or the Magi, who came to see the Christ child. The Magi followed a star, a light, and at the end of that light they found hope and joy. Where might the light be for you that would bring you hope and joy?
So, whether it’s starting that hobby or something bigger, let’s try to find the light that brings hope and joy to us.
Until next time, have a good day.
Yours in Christ.
