The Archbishop’s Council sets standard fees, revised annually, for various life events, normally paid by direct bank transfer (or cheque).

Marriage

There is a fee for the publication of banns (and certificate) and there is a fee for the marriage itself.

Christening

There is no fee for a service of baptism. There is a small fee for a Certificate of baptism, if required.

Funeral

There is a scale of fees for the funeral service, burial, and certificate. These are normally paid by the funeral arranger.

Gravestones

There is a monument fee depending upon size for placement of, or addition to, a stone or cross in the churchyard. These are normally paid by the monumental mason.

Additional Fees

From February 2023 the following fees apply in this parish:

  • Verger £30
  • Sexton £40
  • Organist £60
  • Heating £35
  • Travel Pro-rata – eg £10 to the York Crematorium
