On Sunday 17th November at the 10am Family Communion Glenn Booth, one of our Churchwardens, was installed by the Vicar as Verger of St Thomas’s Church.

The office of Verger goes back many centuries and involves, particularly, keeping the church’s furnishings in order and helping to ensure that the offering of worship is efficient and dignified. Glenn was vested in a gown and also received the keys of the church as symbols of his office. We are very glad to have a Verger at last and we wish Glenn success and happiness in this ministry.

At the same service, 120 shoe boxes, with gifts for needy children, were offered and blessed as our church’s part in the annual Samaritan’s Purse campaign.
