St Thomas's Children
St Thomas’s Children, welcoming all children up to the age of 11, is a new venture for this church. It is intended to help young children to feel at ease in attending, and to help parents, friends and regular worshippers to keep their promise, made at the child’s baptism, to help the children grow in the way of Christ.
St Thomas’s Children meets on the 2nd and 4th Sunday during the normal morning service at 10.00 a.m. After the first hymn the children leave the main congregation and, with the help of volunteers, explore Bible stories through use of stories, games and art work. After this time the group then rejoins the remainder of the morning service and at the end shows the whole congregation what it has done that morning.
This is important to us, allowing all members to support this vital work and letting the children know they are valued as members of the church community. We are always happy to welcome new children. All our teachers and helpers are CRB-checked. There is no meeting of St Thomas’s Children on the 1st and 3rd Sunday as the morning service on these days is focussed on the family in other ways.
