| The Parish of Osbaldwick with Murton | |
Our services, from the traditional to the modern, take place in the churches of Osbaldwick and Murton, and also those of nearby Tang Hall. Visitors, enquirers and new members are always very welcome to any of our services.
At St Thomas’s in Osbaldwick, most of the regular Sunday services have hymns and a talk or a sermon given by the Vicar or the Reader. From time to time our 10.00 am service is attended by Osbaldwick Brownies and Rainbows or other visiting groups.
In the intimate setting of St James’s in Murton we usually worship on the 2nd Sunday at 4.00 pm. The service varies from Evensong (either in the traditional Book of Common Prayer form or in the modern Common Worship form) to a Service of the Word, Songs of Praise or Taize-style services.
Our mid-week services include a said Holy Communion, a short United Morning Prayer and an evening United Service. These take place in Osbaldwick and in the churches of Tang Hall with whom we have active links. For those with the very young we also have a very informal Buggy Service.
